Riello Investimenti SGR, through its fourth private equity fund, Buy&Build Opportunities, has acquired a 70% stake in Filtes International, an Italian company specializing in the production of high-performance industrial yarns used in the manufacturing of safety equipment. The transaction is part of the fund’s investment strategy, which focuses on strengthening manufacturing excellence with strong technological specialization and a proven presence in global markets. Riello Investimenti SGR’s entry into Filtes aims to consolidate the company’s leadership in high value-added segments while accelerating its growth through targeted investments, the development of new product lines, and the expansion of its international commercial presence.
The fund’s investment will enable the company to further accelerate a path already marked by continuous innovation and technological investments, initiated by the Carrara Group in 1994. Filtes will benefit from new resources to enhance its production capacity, expand its proprietary technological platform, develop new applications for the safety and technical apparel sectors, and further strengthen its commercial presence in Europe, the United States, and other high-potential markets. In addition, the investment will support the company in reinforcing its governance and building an organization increasingly focused on international growth.
The acquisition of Filtes represents the second transaction carried out by the Buy&Build Opportunities fund, launched in February this year with the objective of investing up to €300 million to support the growth of leading Italian SMEs through consolidation strategies and the integration of sustainability into business processes in highly fragmented sectors such as Food & Beverage, Manufacturing & Automation, and Lifestyle & Wellness. Through this strategy, Riello Investimenti SGR aims to achieve an efficient risk-return profile and generate significant returns by unlocking the untapped potential of Italian SMEs through scalability, innovation, and sustainability.
