Globalscope member in the UK, Corbett Keeling, contributes to the the latest edition of UK Private Company Director, the quarterly newsletter for directors of owner-managed, family and private equity backed businesses. This latest edition looks at the following topics:
- Transaction activity gained momentum in the first three months of 2017, marking the strongest start to a year since 2012
- Private equity funds often seek co-investors to help diversify their investments; some features of co-investments which private company directors should know about are shared within
- Commercial property has been in demand as an investment in recent years, given its typically strong yields. Highlighted are some areas of the UK market which appear to offer good value after Brexit-related declines.
The high level of activity in the Private Equity market confirms our personal experience in the marketplace – there is plenty of investor appetite for well run private businesses. There is no indication at the moment to suggest that last week’s surprise General Election announcement will change that.
